USUGROWの1993年から2003年前半の作品をまとめた２冊セットの作品集です。
 
イラストレーション、カリグラフィ、ミューラル、音楽家とのコラボレーション等、様々な制作活動を展開するUSUGROWですが、1993年から約１０年の間、日本のハードコアやメタルといったアンダーグラウンドな音楽シーンで数多くのバンドのフライヤーやアルバムカバー、マーチャンダイズ等を手掛けていました。このニッチではあるがディープな音楽シーンが彼のクリエイションのスタート地点でした。この作品集では、当時のUSUGROWの作品を見るだけではなく、彼自身と彼の作品がどのようにシーンと結びついていたのかを垣間見ることができます。生のライヴパフォーマンス、音源（カセット、ヴァイナル、CD)、印刷された紙メディア(フライヤー、雑誌、ファンジン)、Tシャツ、ステッカーのマーチャンダイズ、人、物、情報がフィジカルに繋がり形作られていた当時の音楽シーンをこの作品集から感じることができるかもしれません。
 
ブック１: アルバムカバー、バンドやショップのマーチャンダイズ等に使用された、ブラック&ホワイトのオリジナルイラストレーション、ロゴ、フライヤーを130点以上掲載。重く荒々しい点描のスタイルで描かれた、仏像や異形の者、散りばめられたカルトなアイコン等、現在の繊細で柔らかなイラストレーションとは違ったスタイル、テーマや、レタリングスタイルの源流を見ることができます。
 
ブック２: アルバムカバーアートワーク(カセット、ヴァイナル、CD)、バンドやショップのマーチャンダイズのコレクション、USUGROWオフシャルマーチャンダイズの一部コレクションに加え、USUGROW自身のバンド活動、制作の背景が見える当時の写真、図版等を掲載。

Introducing a two-volume set featuring a compilation of works from the first ten years of USUGROW’s career, spanning from 1993 to the early half of 2003.
 
USUGROW, currently an artist who not only creates and presents works using various methods but also collaborates with a diverse range of musicians, began his creative exploration within Japan’s underground music scene, particularly in the hardcore and metal genres. In this niche yet profoundly deep music scene, he spent about 10 years creating numerous band flyers, album covers, and merchandise.
 
This collection not only allows you to explore his past works but also offers glimpses into how USUGROW and his creations were intertwined with this music scene. From live performances and various audio formats (cassettes, vinyl, CDs) to printed paper media (flyers, magazines, fanzines) and essential merchandise like T-shirts and stickers. You might be able to sense the connections among people, objects, and information that shaped the physicality of the music scene back then through this collection.
 
Book 1: This volume features over 130 black-and-white original illustrations, logos, and flyers used for album covers, T-shirt graphics, and more. The illustrations are characterized by a heavy and raw stippling style, portraying figures like Buddhist statues, otherworldly beings, and cult icons. This distinct style and themes, different from the Simple, Smooth and Precise Illustration of today, allow you to trace the origins of his illustration style and lettering.
 
Book 2: In this volume, you’ll find album cover artworks for various formats (cassettes, vinyl, CDs), a collection of band and shop merchandise, a selection from the USUGROW official merchandise, along with photographs and images from that time that offer insights into USUGROW’s band archives and the background of his creative process.
